FINALLY!!!

Well, our day ended up great but had a rocky start. This morning we had a very relaxing morning and didn't have to be ready to leave to Tokyo from Narita until 10 am. Although what we didn’t know was that in certain places in Japan today due to the earthquake on of the main power sources may be at stake so the purposefully had a 3 hour long power outage so they could see how everything would run if any power actually went out for a long period of time. So, this meant that the metro station was down and not running.( At least until 5pm) At this point we then decided to go back to the airport and catch a shuttle to Tokyo which took about an hr and a half so we didn't get to the hotel until about 3pm. We are just happy to be here because in our touring time we have seen many things including, amazing stores called Bic Store which has amazing and tons and tons of electronics as well. In addition to this store their was a store that had an amazingly packed and huge variety of food almost in a department store type of layout. Sadly this is our last nigh of being here although this trip has been one of a kind and very, very interesting.

P.S. we went on the metro today and ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh we were so close we couldn't even move hmmmm?????

1 inch away from everyone love the mountains.

From the top to the bottom descriptions,

Me in a sea of people :0, Team Jackets :), Lots of covers at Bic's store, Giant bred at the food store!!!!!( everyone was in line at this store to get this bread), Quick stop for QUin at mcdonnalds, Chinese translator and I, Bic store and leaving the APA hotel in Narita.

Better and Better

Well, since yesterday we have had some amazing experiences. Starting off with after we had a study hall for quite a bit we then went and toured around the town of Naeba. While back at the hotel we went to dinner with the Japanese and Chinese teams. They then decided to mix with in teams at different tables. At first this was upsetting to Genevieve and I until we became the humor of the night for the Japanese team. What we had done was put our bowl of soup onto our plates which apparently is not what they were intended to have been done with so after being laughed at we figured it out too then laughing at our own mistakes :). We then happily began to start trying to communicate and to our surprise one of the girls could just get by in her English acting as our almost translator for the night. While nearing the end of the night we were saying our goodbyes and taking pictures and the girl we had been communicating with took our picture on her phone and set it as her screen saver :) this was verrrrrrrrrrrry nice and quite surprising. The next day which was today we woke up went to breakfast and got ready to ski. This morning we skied with a few Japanese people as well as the whole Chinese team. This was such a great time skiing with all of these people because this was and is something that we all have in common. Once we were done skiing which was at about 11:15 we went and got ice cream at this shop which has a robot that serves you your ice cream :) Then at 1 pm we left for Narita with the Chinese team. In addition to today's events the Goldwin family was absolutely amazing and gifted our team with these awesome coats. Plus with dinner tonight we sat with two of the Chinese girls and we had such a great time though for the first 10 min of them staring at us it was interesting. Throughout this trip I have learned quite a variety of things and am enjoying every bit of it.

P.S. Here instead of using microwaves to heat things that you would have in your lunch boxes like koshi they are in this weird box that they are packaged with and you pull a cord and they microwave them selves. CRAZY!!!!

Also Sorry the pictures are all over the place although starting from the beginning to the end it shows the ice cream making robot, the Chinese ski team, Gen/Quin, Group photo with some of Japan, China and USA, Dinner with Japan, Me with some of the China team, One of the people in our hotel, Group pic at dinner last night, two Japanese team members and the instant heat lunch boxes :)

OKAY DAY 3

Well as you may or may not have heard their have been a couple earth quakes here in Japan but team USA is all right and doing well. Due to this event the races have been canceled and the hill closed for the day. Hope to do some free skiing tomorrow and then off to Tokyo. During our free time today we have done some fun exploring and have discovered that in Japan everything comes in a vending machine and that Team USA had some fun on the podium before everything was completely put away from the race.

day 2

Well so far today pretty good day in all parts of it.
At the start of my day we had a good morning with some GS and then Combi training though the snow was a bit soft it was still good. During training today Gen and I rode up the chair with two Japanese girls. Later on we saw them a few more times and we then started conversations through google translate. What a cool experience :)
After tuning our skis we sat down and I was like Quin do you feel that????
Quin "no" wait yeah
haha that was our Earth QUake experience in Japan haha
All in all today was a great day.
P.S. we moved rooms and love our new room due to the size difference being larger that is. :)
... also while writing this last post had some after shock :0
haha loving Japan
Combi tomorrow :)

the pics going in order from left to right are our new japanese friends, the cart in with we moved rooms on as well as the Combi start for tomorrow

JAPAN DAY ONE!!!!!! :)

WOW so right from the start this trip has been absolutely amazing!!!!!!!!
Starting from the first day we got here at 4 in the afternoon Japan time and in the US it was midnight after this while at the airport we walk outside to the parking lot and we see a tour bus with 62 seats for our 6 person USA team. Once we got to the hotel it was 4 am US time and we got settled into our hotel room which is great but a bit short :)
Our first day began with an amazing breakfast.
And figuring out the control panel in our room :)
It was an amazing day of skiing (free skiing) due to the awesome powder thigh deep
After taking some free-skiing runs we ran the border cross course having a blast and turned out amazing due to our japanese people who were cheering for us :) because we were foreign :)
We then got gifts from goldwin which was very generous. Thank you!!!
Until tomorrow :)
P.S. the coke bottles here are amazing
as well as the heated toilet seats :) haha
